"INVICTUS"
"INVICTUS" is a clean and fun C&C 30. Powered by a fresh water cooled 18hp Yanmar, 2GM20F. There have been many upgrades to this boat. Some recent ones include: interior upholstery, self-tailing lewmar winches, fuel tanks and awlgrip hull, topside, deck and cockpit. "INVICTUS" is a MUST-SEE C&C 30 is generally described as an all round, user-friendly boat, forgiving, comfortable and easy to handle, with a reputation as one of the stiffest C&C ever built. Given these qualities, the 30 is the consummate cruiser. It is probably for this reason that it did not receive the design scrutiny of many of its siblings; it was ideally suited for its design requirement - cruising.

The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 1972 C&C 30 MK I is a classic sailboat that offers a blend of performance, style, and cruising capability. Here are some of the key pros and cons of this model:
Pros
Timeless Design: The C&C 30 MK I features a sleek, classic hull design that has stood the test of time, appealing to sailors who appreciate traditional aesthetics combined with solid craftsmanship.
Performance-Oriented: Known for its responsive handling and good speed potential, this boat performs well both upwind and downwind, making it suitable for club racing and cruising.
Quality Construction: Built by C&C Yachts, the MK I benefits from quality fiberglass construction and attention to detail, ensuring durability and longevity.
Comfortable Interior: For a 30-foot boat, it offers a surprisingly spacious and well-laid-out interior, with accommodations that make weekend cruising comfortable.
Good Value: As a used boat, it often represents a cost-effective entry into the world of quality sailing yachts, with a strong owner community and availability of parts.
Cons
Older Design Limitations: While classic, the design reflects 1970s naval architecture, which may lack some modern features like wider beam for increased interior volume or contemporary rigging setups.
Maintenance Needs: Given its age, prospective owners should be prepared for potential maintenance and upgrades, particularly in areas like rigging, sails, and onboard systems.
Limited Tankage: Fuel and water tank capacities are modest, which might limit extended cruising without frequent resupply.
Interior Headroom: While comfortable, headroom may be limited compared to more modern 30-foot cruisers, which could be a consideration for taller sailors.
Keel and Rudder Design: The traditional keel and rudder configuration, while effective, may not offer the same level of maneuverability or shallow-water capability as newer designs.
Made For
The 1972 C&C 30 MK I is designed for sailing enthusiasts who appreciate a classic, well-crafted cruiser-racer. Ideal for those seeking a versatile boat that balances competitive performance with comfortable accommodations, it appeals to sailors looking for a reliable and stylish vessel capable of both weekend cruising and club racing.
