Beautiful sailing vessel in very good condition, well maintained
The C&C 30 MK1 is a great Cruiser. The design was so sound that during the 12 years it was being built, there were very few changes made.
This unit features what was probably the most important upgrade. The main boom is 12" higher off the deck than previous models. This provides a significant improvement in safety and comfort while under sail.
The most distinguishing feature of the 30 MK1 are the two dorade boxes that appear on either side of the mast, built into the coach roof. Their primary purpose is air ventilation for the cabin interior; secondary functions are stiffening the cabin top and providing flat surfaces for the halyard winches.
48 hours minimum notice for showings, please.

The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 1978 C&C 30-1 is a classic sailboat known for its blend of performance and cruising comfort. Here are some of the key pros and cons of this model:
Pros
Performance-Oriented Design: The C&C 30-1 features a sleek hull and efficient sail plan, making it responsive and enjoyable to sail, especially in moderate to strong winds.
Solid Construction: Built with quality materials and craftsmanship typical of C&C Yachts, offering durability and longevity.
Comfortable Interior: For a 30-foot boat, it provides a well-thought-out interior layout with ample headroom and comfortable accommodations for weekend cruising.
Good Upwind Capability: The boat’s keel and rig design enable it to point well into the wind, which is appreciated by sailors looking for competitive performance.
Classic Aesthetic: Its timeless design appeals to enthusiasts of vintage sailboats who appreciate traditional lines combined with practical features.
Cons
Limited Space: While comfortable for its size, the interior space is naturally limited compared to larger cruisers, which may feel cramped for extended voyages or larger crews.
Maintenance Needs: As a boat built in the late 1970s, it may require ongoing maintenance or updates to systems, rigging, and equipment to keep it in top condition.
Outdated Systems: Original hardware and onboard systems might be dated and could need modernization to enhance safety and convenience.
Performance in Light Air: While well-performing in moderate winds, the C&C 30-1 may be less lively in very light wind conditions compared to more modern designs with lighter displacement.
Keel and Draft Considerations: The draft may limit access to shallow waters, which is an important factor depending on cruising grounds.

The 1978 C&C 30-1 is designed for sailing enthusiasts who value a classic blend of performance and comfort. Ideal for those seeking a versatile cruiser-racer, it appeals to sailors interested in weekend cruising, club racing, or coastal passagemaking.
