The Californian 42 LRC was a very popular boat and over 200 of them were built during her production run. "Island Girl" is a traditional trawler design with a prominent bow and a distinctive appearance. Hull construction is solid fiberglass (FRP), and a long keel provides excellent tracking and directional control. "Island Girl" is equipped with larger than standard stainless steel rudders that were upgraded several years ago adding to the already excellent handling characteristics. This version of the Californian is equipped with two staterooms, one forward and one aft and each has it's own full head/shower combination. The main salon is equipped with full control systems that are duplicated on the fly bridge. She includes wide and well secured side decks, a bow pulpit, flybridge with seating for two at the controls and four to five people aft, she has a functional mast and boom, and a deck access door at the lower helm station.
