Versatile Performance: Equipped with powerful twin engines, this vessel provides reliable performance for cruising, fishing, or exploring. The 390 is designed to handle various water conditions with ease.
Comprehensive Amenities: The 2008 model includes comfortable living spaces, a well-equipped galley, and multiple cabins to accommodate family and friends. This makes it a great option for both weekend getaways and extended voyages.
Low Maintenance: The catamaran's design typically results in lower maintenance costs, as the hulls are less susceptible to common issues faced by monohulls, such as heeling and the associated wear on equipment.
Smooth Ride: The combination of its hull design and weight distribution results in a smoother ride, reducing the impact of waves and enhancing overall comfort for passengers.
Cons
Initial Investment: The price point for the Calcutta 390 may be higher than some monohulls or smaller vessels, which could be a barrier for budget-conscious buyers.
Docking and Mooring Needs: The wider beam of a catamaran like the 390 may limit options at certain marinas, where space can be tight, requiring careful planning for docking and mooring.
Weight Considerations: While the stable design is a plus, the dual hulls can make it heavier than some monohulls, which may impact speed and maneuverability in shallow waters.
Limited Sailing Ability: As a power catamaran, it is designed primarily for motorized travel. Those seeking sailing capabilities may find this model lacking compared to traditional sailboats.
Potential for Overloading: Given its spacious design, there’s a risk of overloading if passengers and gear are not properly accounted for, which can affect performance and safety.
