Lady J, formerly Black Gold, was discovered by famed country artist Alan Jackson docked in Palm Beach in 2000. She was owned by the Chapman Family and cruised extensively from Palm Beach to the Bahamas and the Ocean Reef Club. After purchasing the boat, the crew from Jackson Boatworks embarked on an extensive refit with the intention of restoring the boat in her original condition with the upgrades as needed. This included new paint and teak decks installed at Hinckley in Stuart, Fl. A new interior refinish to include new helm and galley floorings made of custom cut 6" cork squares then clear coated. Then a new refabricated helm area dash was custom built hiding all electronics. During this time a new Northern Lights Generator was also installed. After restoration Lady J was moved to Commodore Yacht Club on the Cumberland River in Nashville, TN. There all soft goods and interior painted finishes were redone. She lived in a covered fresh water slip and was meticulously maintained. On the weekends she was taken down the river to Mr. Jackson's house where Mr. Jackson and his famed country artist guest enjoyed afternoon cocktail cruises. Al Thomas of Nashville purchased Lady J in 2008 and has maintained her in a covered freshwater slip to first class standards. He also upgraded many items on th vessel such as 6 flat screen TV's throughout the vessel, diamond plated floors in the engine room and many mechanical upgrades like new digital tachs. She is still berthed at Commodore Yacht Club in Nashville, TN where she is primarily used for afternoonk cocktail cruises, overnight trips to downtown Nashville, or donated for charity Events.
