With a beam of 9 feet 4 inches and a shallow draft of 22 inches, this model emphasizes agility and safety, retaining Whaler’s hallmark unsinkable construction and high freeboard. The design improvements focus on hull configuration and operational ergonomics, aiming to deliver a refined boating experience both on and off the water.
Power and Performance
Powered in the test configuration by twin 300 horsepower Mercury Verado 6-cylinder engines equipped with 20-inch pitch Rev4 props, the 280 Outrage demonstrated impressive speed and efficiency. The boat reached a top speed of 49.6 knots at 6,300 RPM, consuming 60 gallons per hour, which translates to a range of approximately 138 nautical miles.
