El Capitan is a 65' sportfishing boat out of Point Loma, San Diego, CA. It has a COI for fishing from Baja California all the way up to Oregon and Washington. El Capitan currently operates as a ¾ day to a 2.5-day open party and charter boat. The current owner has been fishing professionally since 1966 and is ready to retire and pass on the book of business to someone else.
The El Capitan is a 65 ft solid fiberglass passenger sportfishing vessel. The hull is designed by Ed. Monk Jr. The main cabin sits amid ship with rear door entry. Just inside, there are two heads on the port and starboard sides. Continuing in, there are three booths on the port side and one on starboard. Forward of the booth on the starboard side is the galley and the food prep area. Then forward of these areas is a stairwell down to the bunk room on the starboard side, and on the port side is 5 crew bunks, and three steps leading up to the enclosed wheelhouse. There is also a step up on the starboard side leading up to the wheelhouse through a sliding door. A crow's nest sits atop the wheelhouse. Behind the wheelhouse is an upper deck that is also accessible from the main deck by ladder. A live bait tank sits on the stern deck.
Accommodations:
There are five crew bunks forward of the galley in the main cabin. Below deck there are 18 passenger bunks. The bunk room has 2 refrigerators and two freezers. There is forced air from 110 volt fans. Fully capable of overnight trips.
Galley:
The galley is equipped with two burner flattop, two burner cooktop and a convection oven. Above it an Allure stainless steel hood and exhaust fan with an additional Honeywell plug in fan. Panasonic microwave, large true can cooler and magic chef refrigerator. Double stainless steel rectangular sink. Toaster and coffee maker.
Engines:
Twin diesel engines, Cummins QSMIL Tier 2. Installed brand new in 2007.
Tankage:
Fuel capacity: 1,300 gallons.
Fresh Water Capacity: 2 120 gallon stainless steel tanks. 240 gallons total.
Holding Tanks: 2 tanks, 50 gallons total.
Fishing Equipment and Ground Tackle:
Large fish holds located on stern below deck. Spray Brine.
5hp compressor for refrigeration. 3hp circulation brine pump mounted in tank room. Two well live bait tank which goes below deck and can fit about 120 scoops. The wash down system is powered by a 3hp 220 volt pump.
Bruce anchor. 150ft of chain and 900ft of line.
Electrical System:
12 volt. Four 8D batteries in engine room for engine start. One series 30 battery in engine room for generator start. One 8D battery behind wheelhouse for electronics and DC lights. The generator is located in the engine room forward starboard side. It's a Norpro Diesel Generator 33KW.
