The Bertram 42 Convertible was one of Bertram's most successful boats, with a total of 329 produced between 1975 and 1987. Her exceptional heavy-weather performance, superb fishability, good range, and top-quality construction have earned the Bertram 42 a reputation as a classic design by experienced tournament level sportfishermen. Heavily built on a deep-V (17 degree deadrise), numerous changes were made during her long production run. The Detroit Diesel 6V92TAs, rated at 435hp, help this almost 40,000 lb boat perform. The owner has really taken care of these Detroits as evidenced by no smoke when running as you can clearly see in the video.
