Circe is a magnificent vessel with the best of credentials - luxurious live aboard and sublime sailing.
The Oceanis Yacht is the most recent example of Beneteau innovation leading the way, to create a fast, luxurious cruising boat. Based on the hull design of the First 53, the designers have maximized performance, along with maneuverability on deck, by creating a flush deck 'center cockpit' style vessel with wide side decks that push all the way to the stern and an open aft deck behind the helms. Easy movement from aft deck to cockpit lounging area and companionway thanks to dual helms and dual cockpit tables that create a central passageway, separating the working crew from the lounging crew!
The plum bow and beam which is carried all the way aft create a long waterline and a stable hull which performs well in all weather conditions thanks to twin rudders.
The hull design creates remarkable interior volume with 6'7" height throughout the salon and luxurious interior accommodations.
The transom lowers to create a 8'7" x 3'1" swim platform and also opens up the tender garage which is located below the cockpit sole. A removable swim ladder drops into the water and folding steps to the cockpit allow seamless access from water to cockpit.
Circe has low engine and generator hours and has been actively sailed by her owner, who really enjoys getting out on the water with the sails up and the engine off!

Boattest.com Review
Overview
The Beneteau Oceanus Yacht 62 represents the largest and most luxurious sailing yacht in the Beneteau fleet. It combines impressive volume and attractive design with simplified handling, making it accessible despite its size. The yacht addresses many common sailboat challenges by integrating thoughtful solutions that enhance comfort, ease of operation, and onboard enjoyment.
Exterior Design and Deck Features
The Oceanus 62 features a hardtop that fully covers the cockpit, equipped with a canvas sunroof and tinted skylight aft, with an optional forward canvas dodger. This setup can be fully enclosed with cruising canvas for protection in cooler seasons. The sail plan is designed for ease of use, with a loose-footed mainsail that can be doused at the push of a button via a powered self-tailing winch. The headsail furling system is similarly effortless and controllable from the helm, where all lines are led back for convenient single-handed operation. A self-tending jib track facilitates easy tacking. The yacht includes a spacious stern tender garage measuring 11 feet 6 inches deep, 5 feet 10.5 inches wide, and 34 inches high, with a hydraulic transom that lowers into the water for tender deployment. Docking is assisted by a standard bow thruster with controls at both helms and an optional stern thruster. The cockpit is designed for entertaining, featuring two settees around fold-out tables that can be electrically lowered to form sun pads. Dual helm stations provide excellent visibility and space, and a unique pop-up on-deck galley rises from under the center seat, complete with a grill, sink, and lighting for nighttime use. Additional amenities include a refrigerated compartment and propane locker near the helms.
Power and Performance
Beneath the companionway lies a Yanmar 6-cylinder diesel engine delivering 170 horsepower, paired with a 4-blade folding propeller. During testing, the yacht achieved speeds ranging from 4.5 knots at 2,000 RPM to 9.5 knots at 3,680 RPM, with relatively quiet operation both on deck and below. Fuel capacity is 264 gallons. Navigation and control systems are comprehensive, with autopilot and dual helm station instrumentation including 12-inch ASUS B&G wireless screens featuring GPS, chartplotter, speedometer, wind instruments, and PC interface, effectively eliminating the need for an additional navigator. The bow is equipped with an optional stainless steel ultra-anchor and a standard vertical windlass, with chain locker access through a large forward hatch.
Interior Living Spaces
Accessed via companionway stairs with illuminated, ergonomically designed steps, the interior is bright and spacious thanks to multiple windows, overhead hatches, skylights, and hull-side openings. To port is a sitting area with an L-shaped settee and a facing loveseat arranged around a folding table convertible for dining. Above this area is a dedicated navigation station with a bucket seat, chart table, multifunction display, and digital switching panel with easy access to electronics and breaker panels. To starboard, the galley extends the full length of the salon, featuring a long countertop, forward sink, three-burner gimballed stove, oven, dishwasher, and under-counter refrigerator and freezer with top and front access. Optional features include a wine chiller and an in-sole wine locker holding 16 bottles. Additional storage is abundant above and below counters, including lockers beneath cast-assist strut-supported deck hatches. Laundry facilities and an extra refrigerator are located forward. Systems such as water manifold and air conditioning units are conveniently accessible beneath the sole, which also houses batteries.
Private Accommodations
The Oceanus 62 offers flexible layouts with three or four stateroom configurations; the test model featured three en suite cabins. The forward master stateroom provides privacy with an indirect entry and generous headroom of seven feet one inch. It includes hall-side windows, overhead hatches, bookshelves, reading lamps, large hanging lockers, and drawers. The berth measures 80 inches by 68 inches, offering a size between king and queen, with nearly four feet of headroom above. Owners can customize the aft bulkhead area with options such as a chest of drawers or a dressing seat with storage. The master head features natural light, a walk-in shower with bifold acrylic doors, a Euro-style wand shower, and a bench. Two aft guest cabins are mirror images, each with full-size berths measuring 78 by 55 inches, ample natural light, hanging lockers, shelves, and generous storage. Both have six feet three and a half inches of overhead clearance and private heads. The port guest cabin's head also serves as a day head with dual access through the shower and passageway.
Conclusion
The Beneteau Oceanus Yacht 62 is a well-equipped, thoughtfully designed sailing yacht that balances luxury, comfort, and ease of operation. Its innovative features, spacious accommodations, and performance capabilities make it suitable for serious cruising as well as entertaining friends and family. The yacht’s design reflects a clear focus on owner-operator convenience without sacrificing the amenities expected in a vessel of this size and class.
