Blue Jay is a beautifully maintained, 2 cabin/1 head Oceanis 41. This one owner boat is in excellent condition with an exceptionally well cared-for interior, in-mast furling main, Iverson canvas, and a lightly used asymmetrical spinnaker. She also includes a West Marine 10ft dinghy and Suzuki outboard.
This Oceanis 41 has been sailed up and down Puget Sound as well as north to the Canadian Gulf Islands and beyond. Blue Jay is currently moored at our docks on Lake Union and ready for you to sail her away. Stop by and take a look!
Entering thru the gradual-sloping companionway steps, you are greeted by a bright, open salon. The large starboard-side dinette table features U-shaped seating with newer, bright upholstery. To port is unique configurable seating with nav station - all three components slide allowing the nav table between or on either side of the two seats.
Aft of the dinette on the starboard side is a large head with sink, electric Jabasco toilet, and separate shower stall featuring access from the salon or through the aft starboard-side cabin.
Opposite the head is a fully-equipped galley with double sink, 3 burner gimballed propane stove with oven, microwave, front-loading fridge, and top-loading freezer. The galley features Corian countertops and plenty of storage both above and below counter level in the galley itself as well as a large pantry aft. The pantry also provides a door for interior access to the full-height port-side garage/workshop.
Owner sleeping accommodations consist of a spacious cabin forward with a large vee berth, closet/shelf storage, and a small desk with storage. The guest berth aft has a queen-size bed, plenty of storage, and in-cabin access to the head.
Blue Jay features Webasto diesel heating throughout and an 11g hot water tank.

Blue Jay features a large cockpit with dual wheels and teak seating plus custom cushions for port & starboard benches. The fully-opening electric transom drops down into a wide, spacious swim platform with integrated swim ladder. Central in the cockpit is a large table with fold-down leaves and built-in ice chest storage for beverages. Cockpit storage consists of a shallow starboard lazarette and a deep, spacious port side garage/workshop. She is well-equipped with plenty of fenders and a wide array of docking/lock lines.
The entire cockpit is covered by a black with grey trim Iverson dodger and bimini with a connector panel which can be easily removed in good weather. At the bow is a spacious anchor locker with an electric windlass with wired remote.
Blue Jay also includes a West Marine 10ft dinghy with Suzuki outboard and there is an outboard hoist system on the transom.

Sail Handling and Rigging Innovations
Sail control is optimized for shorthanded sailing through several innovative features. The running rigging leads to jammers on either side of the companionway, reducing the number of winches required. The introduction of Harken on-off power buttons for the self-tailing electric winches allows operators to select slow or fast speeds and to disable the winches to prevent accidental activation. The mainsheet system employs a German design that keeps the cockpit uncluttered and allows mainsail trimming from both sides via a continuous loop without a tail. Jammers for both genoa and mainsheet on each side further facilitate efficient sail handling.
Power and Maneuverability
Powered by a 45 horsepower Yanmar diesel engine paired with a three-blade folding propeller and a powerful bow thruster, the Beneteau 411 demonstrates excellent maneuverability even in challenging conditions. During testing, the boat was able to break free from a dock pinned by stiff winds with ease. The throttle response was immediate, and the helm was highly responsive, aided by a large spade rudder positioned well aft that enabled tight turns. The bow thruster further enhanced maneuvering, allowing the boat to turn sharply on demand.
Performance Under Sail
Testing in steady 18 to 22 knot true winds revealed the Beneteau 411’s strong sailing capabilities. With one reef in the mainsail and a partially rolled genoa, the boat achieved an upwind speed of 6.9 knots at 45 degrees true wind angle, maintaining heel angles between 12 and 18 degrees. Bearing off and unrolling the jib increased speeds to 8.3 knots at 60 degrees and up to 9 knots at 100 degrees off the wind. The boat remained responsive with light helm input even when heeled up to 20 degrees. At broader reaches, speeds remained sprightly at 8.5 knots at 140 degrees true wind angle. The balanced sail plan and large spade rudder contributed to smooth tacking, jibing, and maneuvering. This balance also reduced autopilot load, allowing it to hold course more effectively with minimal wandering. While the test model lacked racing options, the boat’s performance suggests it would be highly competitive with such enhancements.
