The Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 343 is a French-built 34' cruising sailboat designed for comfortable coastal sailing, family cruising, and longer passages. Built by Beneteau and designed by Berret-Racoupeau, it combines a spacious interior with manageable sailing performance.
The Beneteau 343 sails very well but is most popular for its cruising-oriented design rather than a racer. In moderate winds, the boat can achieve 6-7 kts. The cockpit and sail controls are designed to make sailing very manageable for couples and small crews. The hull shape provides nice interior volume and stability. "Summer Wind" offers the shoal draft keel for shallower cruising waters, but gives away little performance due to the longer fin keel cord length. This interior layout offers two separate cabins; fwd double and aft double. A spacious main salon has settees on both port and starboard sides along with a galley and enclosed head. The interior design is one of the boats strongest selling points (along with the unique swinging helm wheel in cockpit!) Headroom below is over 6'.
"Summer Wind" is decommissioned for the winter and located in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Recent improvements include: new gear/throttle shifter, new stainless steel anchor and new radios/speakers. Interior cushions were also replace recently. This boat needs little more than some fresh bottom paint and a new name and hail! Call listing broker to schedule a viewing. SELLER'S are motivated.
