This 2006 Bruce Farr designed Beneteau First 44.7 is a high performance offshore racing yacht that has the rare dual purpose of being a highly comfortable and roomy performance cruiser. "Valkyrie" has been professionally maintained to a very high standard and operated on the Northeast Coast mostly on a Summer schedule, and has been fully optimized for offshore racing. She is offered with an extensive up-to-date racing and cruising sail inventory. On the race course under the I.R.C. Rating Rule she sails at a very competitive 1.100 and has a very successful race record - in 2014 she was 1st in Class in the Newport to Bermuda race, 1st in Class in the Storm Trysail Block Island Race, and 2nd in Class in the Vineyard Race - resulting in being ranked 2nd in both the Northern Ocean Racing Trophy and the ORR East Coast Ocean Series. She was recently 2nd in Class in the 2015 Vineyard Race. To name a few upgrades, New Lithium batteries and an aramid backstay were added in 2015 to reduce weight and increase power, as well as updated running rigging. Of particular note is Valkyrie's steering, which has been upgraded to provide for greater helm sensitivity, feel and feedback for racing, but which can be easily converted back to its original mode for cruising if so desired. "Valkyrie" also has a custom carbon fiber bow sprit with bobstay from which to fly its extensive asymmetrical downwind inventory. Complete with a state-of-the-art electronics (including B&G sailing instruments and the latest B&G touch screen chart plotter, two computers include a built-in marine computer and monitor that's runs side-by-side with a laptop computer (both with Expedition), B&G broadband radar and KVH broadband satellite and entertainment package. She is in excellent condition and a must see. You would need to spend close to six figures or more on any other 44.7 presently on the market to get close to this level of condition and spec.
