To go far and go fast, in comfort and total safety: that was the Beneteau design teams brief for the new Antares 10.80. The deck (and crew) are well protected by the high spray defecting bow; the deep V stem flares strongly out to the wide stern section giving excellent stability. Her twin diesel engines (2 x 285hp) and generous cruising range ensure well mannered performance at optimum power for the waters of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama & Florida.

From the stemhead fitting to the bathing platform. the deck. the cockpit and the flybridge have all been designed with comfort and safety in mind. The electric windlass has been slightly raised up, the walkaround sidedecks are protected by a robust stainless steel grabrail surrounding the deck from the cockpit, and the cockpit itself is well equipped with a number of large lockers. Other distinctive characteristics of the large Antares: a legacy from the professional fishing vessels, solid teak coamings and superb mooring line leads for easy and secure moorings.

Originally conceived as an ideal pilot station for sea fishing, today's flybridge has many other features. For instance, an uninterrupted view of the world going by .... and as a result of this change of use much effort has been put into the finer details of the Antares 10.80; easy access via stainless steel ladder with teak treads, proper hatch for safety, pilot seat and navigators seat with all engine controls within easy reach, large sunbathing area to starboard, not forgetting the mast for the radar dome and the GPS aerial.

Gazing inwards from the large doorway aft, the Antares 10.80 vocation for cruising is obvious; the light and airy salon has a dining table and galley with a "sea-view". The pilot station is particularly well thought out with its mahogany veneered adjustable seat, engine controls immediately to hand and all instruments in perfect view.

To port, a forward facing double seat lets the other members of the crew see where they are going too. An extra detail; the Antares 10.80 is also equipped with a windscreen demisting system.

The two private cabins (centerline berth in the owners cabin and (2) twin berths convert into one double), are finished in cherry stained mahogany with good lighting and plenty of ventilation. So, with the added advantage of convertible salon, the Antares 10.80 will happily accommodate 6 people for cruising in comfort. Last but not least, there is also a separate shower in the spacious head compartment.
