The Huge Windows, Galley-up Design and Open Floor Plan Create an Amazing Open-Air Feel in the Salon, with plenty of Room for Entertaining.  The Galley-Up Design puts the Cook at the Center of the Activities in this Large, Bright space.

Up a few stairs takes you to the Raised Pilot House, which offers great visibility for the Captain and a fabulous view for Guests at the Dinette.  Entry doors on both sides and a hatch to the Flybridge provide excellent access for the Captain to move about.

The Large Flybridge is shaded by a Bimini top, and features a center Helm Station and an Entertaining area, with seating for Eight on two large L-shaped lounges. Aft on the extended hard top is a Davit and storage for the Boston Whaler tender.

The Master Stateroom is forward and features a Center-line Walk-around Queen Berth, ample Storage, Flat-Screen TV, and Ensuite Head with Tub/Shower.  The Ensuite Office includes a Computer Desk and a Setee, which converts to a berth, making this a 3rd stateroom for when extra guests are on board.

The aft Cockpit is sheltered by the hardtop and can be enclosed with canvas side-curtains for off-season use.  The transom door and swim platform make her easy to board from the stern.

The 4550/4588 is powered by fuel-sipping Hino diesels.  These 6-cylinder, 220 hp diesels have proven to be some of the most reliable and fuel efficient marine diesels ever built.  In a typical trip around The Great Loop, these engines could reduce fuel costs up to $20,000!!

The 12.5 kW Westerbeke generator provides plenty of power to run all systems while underway.

Additional Notes From The PowerBoat Guide: "

With over 350 built during her production run, this handsome pilothouse yacht has long been recognized as one of the best big-boat buys in the industry. A careful blend of Pacific Northwest styling and comfortable interior accommodations result in a long-range, cruising yacht with instant eye appeal.  Pilothouse designs make excellent cruisers and they offer obvious advantages in colder climates. While she can sleep three couples, this is really a two-couple boat with the third stateroom used as a den/study. Outside, a bridge overhang provides weather protection in the cockpit, and the flybridge will accommodate a dinghy. Engine access is via two hatches in the cockpit sole. The sidedecks are wide and secure, and a wheelhouse door provides easy 'access to the foredeck. With standard 220-hp Hino diesels (250-hpbeginningin 1991), she'll cruise at 16-17 knots at 1 mpg—excellent economy for a 45-foot yacht. The hull is fully cored to reduce weight, and a sharp entry and 15" keel provide good seakeeping qualities.  (Note that she was called the 4550 through the 1988 model year..)"
