"Breakin Wind" is a stand out Bayliner 3888 that has the added benefit of having her Hino engines replaced with a set of 210hp Cummins. These reliable power plants are much easier for parts, service and give extra torque making docking even easier. The 3888 has a terrific two stateroom two head layout that even features a tub/shower. Both staterooms have double berths and the salon is spacious with a galley down and also a lower helm. Seating is plentiful around the flybridge and the canvas enclosure is in excellent condition. A large cockpit with an easy door access to the engine room rounds out an excellent cruising package all in 38 feet!

The Biggest Pros and Cons

Pros

Spacious Interior: The Bayliner 3888 features a well-designed layout with ample living space. Its two-stateroom design, combined with a spacious salon and galley, makes it ideal for families and entertaining guests.

Versatile Performance: Equipped with twin engines, the 3888 offers good power for cruising and maneuvering in tight spaces. This makes it a versatile option for both inland and offshore boating.

Affordable Price Point: As a mid-range motoryacht, it presents an attractive option for buyers looking for a cruiser that offers great value without breaking the bank.

Stable Ride: The wide beam of the 3888 contributes to its stability on the water, providing a comfortable ride in various conditions.

Large Flybridge: The spacious flybridge provides an excellent vantage point for navigation, relaxation, and enjoying views while underway or at anchor.

Good Storage: Ample storage options throughout the boat make it easy to stow gear, making extended trips more convenient.

Cons

Older Model: Being a 1988 model, the Bayliner 3888 may require more maintenance and updates compared to newer motoryachts, potentially leading to higher long-term costs.

Limited Fuel Efficiency: While the twin engines provide good performance, they may not be the most fuel-efficient option available, especially on longer trips.

Outdated Technology: The onboard systems and electronics may be outdated compared to modern vessels, necessitating upgrades for those seeking the latest features.

Basic Construction: While sturdy, the build quality of older Bayliners has received some criticism, and potential buyers should inspect the vessel for signs of wear or issues.

Headroom: While the interior is spacious, some areas may have limited headroom, which could be a concern for taller individuals.

Resale Value: As a boat depreciates, resale value could be a factor; older models like the 3888 may not maintain their value as well as newer options.
