This Baja 292 Islander features the optional TWIN Mercruiser fuel injected 5.7 EFI 260hp engines with 308 hours.
For easy bow access, there is a walkthrough along the portside of the 292 Islander. A wastebasket is mounted on the inside of the large port hatch that also features lots of room to stash deflated water toys. Just ahead to port, adjacent to the bow seating area, there's a secured locker that has racks to accommodate wakeboards or fishing rods. Forward in the bow is seating for two facing aft. All the way forward, in the point of the bow, is an anchor locker. On the bow's starboard side is an ââ¬ÅLââ¬ï¿½ shaped seat with backrests mounted on the leading edge of the mid-cabin.
To enter the cabin, there is a sliding hatch near the helm. A marine porcelain electric head with holding tank and macerator is located under the filler cushions in the cabin.
At the helm is a drop-out racing bolster. A bench seat wraps around the aft section of the cockpit with stowage in the base. Under the side cushions are drop-in plastic storage bins. Across the back are drop-in fender pockets, plus room for lines and other extra equipment. Also located here are the battery switches, circuit breakers, and battery jumper posts. There is a large storage compartment in the cockpit sole opposite the helm bolster.
The sun lounge on top of the engine hatch uses gas struts to open up, revealing two large lockers - ideal for dock lines, PFDs, or towels. There's a nonslip walkthrough that extends from the swim platform to the cockpit allowing cockpit entry without stepping on the upholstery. The power engine hatch provides excellent access to the engines, batteries and aft bilge. The swim platform has another locker that offers wet stowage and covers the boarding ladder.
