Exterior Design and Features
The Aquila 54's exterior is thoughtfully engineered, particularly at the stern where the tender launching system stands out. Instead of traditional davits, a crane extends from the hardtop's trailing edge to lower the tender, which is itself a catamaran rib designed by Aquila. The lowering platform doubles as a functional extension of the stern, allowing the tender to be securely tied up. Wide steps measuring 42 inches in width and 12 inches in height provide comfortable seating, while a cleverly designed reboarding ladder slides out and deploys three steps extending 30 inches deep, surpassing ABYC standards. The ground tackle system is efficiently arranged with a roller through the stem, remote control, a Quick windlass managing an all-chain rode, and a chain stopper. This endurance enables extended passages such as from Fort Lauderdale to the British Virgin Islands without refueling.
