The 34 American Tug has been in production since 2001 to current. Her appearance alone exudes her ruggedness. This pilot house trawler has had a strong following since day one. She is a very fuel efficient coastal cruiser that is built to withstand more than most Captain's would take her through. She was initially designed to withstand the rigors of the tough pacific northwest. The boats architect designer Lynn Senour has utilized just about every square inch of space. There is storage abound in every nook and cranny you can imagine. The quality of construction is apparent everywhere you look, she is built tough. The fuel efficient Cummins 330hp will give you a comfortable cruise at 14 knots and top out at about 17 knots. If you drop her down to 8.5 knots you are only burning about 3 gallons of fuel per hour. That's a range of over 1,000 miles.
The interior of this boat seems like you are on a much larger boat. As you enter the salon to port is a cabinet that hides the washer-dryer combo. Just forward is a large L-shaped sofa. Opposite is a very well appointed galley. The double sink is set kitty corner so as to utilize the counter space efficiently. There is a three burner cook top and an oven for more elaborate meals and plenty of storage drawers and cabinets. Up a couple steps you enter the raised pilot house area. There are port and starboard double helm and companion seats with more storage tucked beneath. There are port and starboard pilothouse doors for access to each side deck. This makes docking and handling those lines a breeze. The side decks are wide and have oversized rails for added safety. The visability is wonderful underway with very large windows all around. Down a few steps you have day access to the head and the entrance to the master stateroom. The head is huge for a boat of this size. There is a separate shower stall with plenty of room to move. The master has a queen sized berth that is easy to get on and around for making her up in the morning. The spacious hanging closet is cedar lined as is the opposing locker on the port side. There is hull side cabintry and custom built-ins on the sides of the hull.
The engine mechanical room on this boat glistens! There are fresh water flushing valves installed on the thru hull strainers for the engine and generator and they have been used religiously since she was new. The Cummins 330 hp diesel is a work horse with a great reputation. The hull is designed perfectly for this power. She is a semi-displacement hull with a full deep keel that helps keep the boat stable and offers protection to the prop. There are line cutters just in case.
This boat was built to order by two very knowledgeable owners. They have had over four decades of boating experience together. They put together their years of boating and came away with one awesome boat. It accomplished just what they set out to do. This is a wonderful cruising boat with all the creature comforts and a very economical boat to run. She has an extensive option and custom list and a very nice electronics package to match. You'll be proud to bring her into any harbor or port. In those harder places to dock rest assured you'll look like a pro with the bow and optional stern thrusters at you disposal.
If you are looking for a meticulous pilothouse trawler this is it! Don't hesitate to call for a special showing on a very special boat.
