Thin Ice has been one of the most successful Aerodyne 38s ever built. She has been campaigned successfully both inshore and offshore winning back to back SORC titles in 2018 , 2019 and 2020. Her offshore success is just as impressive with her still holding the race record for best corrected time for the Pineapple Cup in 2005 . Since 2018 she has had a new yanmar engine installed along with new sails and just this past summer her bottom was faired and a Balta plate bottom paint applied .
She comes with a shallow draft of just 6ft which from a rating point of view makes her extremely competitive against other boats in her class.
The current owner has done extensive work to fix any core damage below the water line, rebuild the sail drive and rebedded all hardware that was showing signs of leaking . Some delamination in deck is still evident around the aft cockpit areaÃ?Â
Prior to been campaigned in Florida she raced extensively in New England winning under PHRF .ORC and IRC
