Our test configuration, including fuel, crew, and nearly a ton of optional equipment such as the tower and SeaKeeper gyro stabilizer, brought the total test weight to just over 20,000 pounds.
Power and Performance
The 380 Outrage was tested with two engine configurations. First, a triple Mercury 350 Verado setup with 16 by 17 inertia eco props achieved a top speed of 50 miles per hour at 6,200 RPM. The optimal cruise speed was 29.3 miles per hour at 4,000 RPM, consuming 32.7 gallons per hour, which equated to approximately 0.9 miles per gallon and a range of 359 miles while maintaining a 10% fuel reserve. The cockpit offers 45 square feet of fishing space, large refrigerated and macerated fish boxes, spreader and courtesy lighting, remote camera, and numerous rod holders. The deck is designed with a slight cant to channel water efficiently to twin drains, and an automatic engine flush system simplifies maintenance.
