The entire rig was renewed in 2002 including Navtec rod rigging, as part of this project the mast and boom were repainted and restepped.

Deck & Hull

Hull is hand laid up, molded fiberglass using fiberglass mat, woven roving and polyester resin. All high stress areas are strengthened with extra layers of mat and woven roving. Longitudinal stringers and transverse floors give the hull stiffness. Limber holes in stringers and floors allow drainage to bilge pump.

Deck is hand laid up molded fiberglass with end grain balsa core for stiffness and insulation. Dorades, sea hood and bosses for deck hardware and winches are molded into deck for watertight integrity.

Modified fin keel with rudder hung on a heavy duty skeg, in 2001 a custom bow plate was fitted to add strength and stability, and in 2002 the stainless steel bow pulpit was replaced. Skeg and rudder are hand laid up fiberglass to proven airfoil design. Rudder stock is solid 2" stainless steel with welded stiffening plate. Gudgeon is thru bolted to skeg.

Bulkheads are attached to hull and deck with minimum 3" wide overlay of mat and woven roving. In visible areas, bulkheads are covered with teak veneer. Sole begins with 3/4" marine plywood sub-sole.

Chain plates are stainless steel, grained and electropolished, attached with stainless steel bolts to bulkhead and knees, which are bonded to hull and mat and woven roving overlays.

Modified fin keel with external ballast of cast lead with added antimony for hardness; ballast is thru-bolted to hull with (11) 1" diameter stainless steel bolts.

V-drive rebuilt in 2020, new fuel tank in 2013.
