This beautiful Carver 570 Voyager is one of the last of a dying breed of well-built, quality boats from the early/mid 2000s that were equipped with direct drives and traditional shaft/prop/rudder configuration (NO PODS!)
90% of these voyagers have an actual pilothouse (with lower helm), but this one is a rare find. The lower helm has been completely eliminated with no cumbersome captain chair, controls, electronics, etc... taking up valuable interior space, thus making room for a proper lounge and additional seating area instead, complete with table and entertainment center.
The official driving station is on the flybridge, but there is a remote control that connects to a hook-up in the cockpit to allow you to maneuver and dock the boat from the stern.
Carver's flagship and biggest boat made at that time, the 570 Voyager was available till about 2005, until their new luxury Marquis line started making larger yachts in the 59'-72' range, presumably to break into the larger, luxury yacht market and for those seeking more European styling.
Along with many other American boat manufacturers, Carver is now, sadly, out of business and no longer making these highly popular and sought-after boats. With fewer and fewer of these types of boats remaining on the used-boat market, especially in this condition, it is getting harder and harder to locate these tried-and-true survivors of a by-gone era.
