WELLINGTON 44 CENTER COCKPIT
"Designed and built by Bill Wellington's firm in Jacksonville, Florida, during the 1970s and 1980s, the Wellington 44 was conceived as a dedicated bluewater cruiser capable of weathering significant offshore conditions. Its design features a heavy displacement hull, a moderate to deep draft, and a versatile sail plan that was typically configured as either a cutter or a ketch. The vessel's identity is inextricably linked to its "unsinkable" reputation-a claim rooted in its massive, hand laid solid fiberglass hull and robust internal grid system."- Nautipedia
Dream Ketch'r is part of a rare pedigree, a line of 1970s and early 80s Bluewater sailboats that were built with comfort, living space, and safety in mind. locally built in Jacksonville, FL, these "unsinkable" yachts, with their incredible living quarters, beautiful interior wood accents, and solid construction are highly sought after to this day.
With her centerboard up, Dream Ketch'r's shoal draft of 4.25 ft is one of the larger bluewater sailboats that is also considered a solid gunkholer. Her ability to cruise shallower waters that most bluewater sailors could never dream of makes her perfect for the Bahamas, Florida Keys, and the Caribbean.
The previous owner re-powered DREAM KETCH'R with a rebuilt 77 HP Yanmar 4JHDTE Deluxe Turbo in 2015, with fewer than 700 hours under its belt. Under her current ownership, she has had many recent upgrades and maintenance items addressed, including new standing rigging within the last five years, a 5kw Northern Lights generator (2023), a Storm 2200 windlass (2022), and most recently three coats of bottom paint applied (2026).

DREAM KETCH'R has an exceptionally comfortable and roomy 2-cabin 2-head layout.
Stepping into the main cabin from the companionway, her well-equipped U-shaped galley is to port with built in refrigeration and freezer to starboard. The galley is equipped with a propane 3-burner stove with oven to port. There is a double stainless-steel sink surrounded by plenty of counter space and storage. The separate refrigerator and freezer are cooled by Adler Barbour 110V cold plates that easily last for 3 days before recharging.
Her roomy salon can easily seat six or more around a lovely teak drop-leaf dinette table - which can be removed to create a third double berth. Above the settee to starboard is a 32" flat screen television.
Moving forward is the guest head with separate shower to port and the generous vee-berth.
The oversized master stateroom with a full-sized queen centerline berth is aft with a private ensuite head. The head also serves as passage to the walk-in engine room with full access and headroom.
DREAM KETCH'R'S cabins are cooled by a dual A/C system with a 16.5 BTU unit in the main salon and a 12K BTU unit in the master stateroom.
