Cons

Outdated Technology: While the classic build has its charm, some systems and equipment may be outdated compared to modern boats. Upgrading electronics, plumbing, and electrical systems may be necessary.
Limited Speed: While the Ohlson 38 is a capable sailor, it may not match the speed or performance of some newer, more optimized designs. For racing enthusiasts, this could be a consideration.
Availability of Parts: As with many older boats, sourcing specific replacement parts or components can be challenging. This may require customization or alternative solutions.
Weight: The solid construction that adds to durability can also result in a heavier boat. While this contributes to stability, it may affect performance in lighter winds.
