Jachtwerf de Rietschans is a high quality yard just outside Amsterdam known for restoring European classic yachts. In 1991 they started building a boat that would correct all the problems and objections owners had while creating a boat more suitable for open water, rather than lakes. Note that these are known as the "Beaver" in Holland. Built of hand laid fiberglass construction with hand crafted wood working of teak and mahogany. The center cockpit layout puts the Captain with the guests during the cruise, while the aft deck provides plenty of area for lounging. The wide side-decks are easily navigated to reach the bow.
Currently in the water, under a covered shed near Solomons, MD. Heading to Kent Island in a few weeks.

The twin Yanmars are easily accessed via two large hatches under the aft sun pads as well as the cockpit seating. These 125 hp engines are reported to only burn 6 gallons per hour at cruise speed
