KAI LANI
2003 70' Ocean Alexander Classico - Portuguese Bridge CPMY
Owned in a WA tax paid LLC
Welcome aboard KAI LANI. She was a custom order build by her original and veteran owner. Starting from the design board of the renowned Ed Monk, Jr and then engineered and constructed by Ocean Alexander. She exemplifies the robust Ocean Alexander brand which has long been known and appreciated for their exceptional build quality along with truly tasteful interior joinery. And from her original delivery in CA to her current home in Tacoma, she has always been a West Coast vessel.
She was intended and built for relaxed and enjoyable coastal cruising and to this end, she offers a number of sought after exterior features which underscore her cruising design theme:
- A full command bridge hardtop, protecting an exceptional open space design with center helm.
- Covered walk around side decks with high freeboard and a Portuguese Bridge for safety and ease of movement around the exterior of the vessel, both while underway or at rest.
- The forward placement of the pilothouse design, along with its unique reverse angled PH windshield, allow for non-glare and full command visibility.
- A covered Cal deck between the cockpit and salon is an open space for multiple relaxing and entertaining options.
- The large functional cockpit enhances the vessels exterior space uses for cruising, relaxation, fishing, and access to crew quarters and engine room space.
- Beautiful teak decking on the Cal deck and side decks.
- Her soft riding semi displacement hull design features a deep and sharp forefoot to soften the entry into head seas, a good amount of bow flair to help minimize spray and maximize forward buoyancy, hard chines along after surfaces and a full keel for added stability additionally aided by the hydraulic fin stabilization system.
- A Dock Master hand held controller for maneuvering control, further enhances the ease of docking. It controls the engines, the hydraulic bow and stern thrusters and the windlass.
And her interior layout is a true traditional Monk concept, incorporating warm, comfortable and visually open spaces:
- Exceptional teak interior joinery w/satin finish.
- Upon entering the aft salon, one sees the open flow all the way to the pilothouse windshield. The spacious and airy salon seating area transforms into to a full wet bar area and then continues into the modern chefs galley and then into the large pilothouse area. The pilothouse features a large dinette for entertaining and meals as well as the commanding helm/navigation area. The helm features twin Stidd helm chairs, along with a recently updated all encompassing RayMarine navigational package. Side deck doors from the pilot house are on both port and starboard sides.
- Recent interior improvements include, new salon and pilothouse upholstery, new teak and holly decking in the galley and pilothouse, new large Isotherm beverage cooler w/ice maker, and new carpeting in the salon and loose but fitted in the pilothouse.
- Over night accommodations are found in the full beam mid-master, port guest cabin has cross berths and the island queen VIP is forward. There are also two crew berths aft, with head/shower, cooking and TV.
