- The extra 40 hp per engine (80 hp total) plus the noticeably higher torque and displacement give the 1,400 hp setup: Slightly stronger acceleration and quicker planing response, especially when loaded (full fuel, tender in the garage, passengers, gear—common on a 63-footer).
Better ability to maintain high speeds in real-world conditions (chop, head seas, or when the hull has some bottom growth).
