Frers, Micheletti and Poggi
German Frers created the overall concept, Lucio Micheletti the exterior and Misa Poggi the interior. On deck Nautor extended the wood-covered cockpit coamings further aft for crew comfort, in what it calls a modern, uncluttered look.
A flat aft deck you can clear for racing
The whole aft cockpit section is flat, so it takes any configuration of seating, on-deck storage or furnishing — and all of it can be removed in racing mode. In cruising trim the open aft deck sets up for swimming and sunbathing, with the beach area and swimming platform next to a full-beam lazarette that takes a rigid inflatable.
Twin rudders, and three keels to choose from
The Swan 80 has twin rudders for directional stability, a tapered hull entrance and a powerful aft section. The hull is foam-cored glass fibre reinforced epoxy with carbon fibre unidirectional reinforcements.
Rearrange the cabins, or the crew
One arrangement puts the owner's cabin forward with four more guest and VIP cabins, all en suite. Crew quarters sit aft with independent access to the cockpit and engine room, and a guest cabin can be converted temporarily to take the crew from two to five.
