A 16.98-metre sailing yacht, a new edition of the Jeanneau Yachts 55 built for ocean passages, in three cabins.
A new edition for ocean passages
Jeanneau describes the 55 Expedition as a boat chosen for leaving properly: far, and for a long time. It calls the Expedition a new edition designed for ocean passagemaking, embodying the definition of the Jeanneau Yachts 55 in autonomy, enduring comfort and life on board for people who no longer count the miles.
What this edition adds
Jeanneau lists high-performance rigging, four 80-watt solar panels and an advanced offshore electronics pack aboard this edition, and says there is more it has not yet named.
Built for long spells away
The yard says the boat is designed for sailors who want to go far without giving up comfort, with systems built for long spells at sea and at anchor.
An owner’s suite over two-thirds of the interior
The Jeanneau Yachts 55 is laid out as a private apartment, with the forward owner’s suite taking two-thirds of the interior. The main companionway gives the owner private access, and the two guest cabins with their own bathrooms are reached from the cockpit by two separate companionways.
A dual cockpit
Aft there are two saloons, one U-shaped and one L-shaped, each converting into a sundeck, with a large hydraulic swim platform behind them. The twin helms are forward, sheltered by the hard top and a wraparound windscreen, with an exterior chart table carrying a GPS screen and autopilot controls.
