Sabre, the company that is still bringing us some spectacular boats, made some of the best sailboats of the 80s-90s, They were graceful, with classic lines, and had just the right amount of performance and creature comforts to still be in great demand today.
This example was designed by R. Hewson with a fin keel and skeg protected rudder, one of 107 built between 1986 -1993, fitted with a 18 hp Westerbeke diesel with only 840 hours showing on the meter. She is capable of 7 knots standard hull speed, Current owner has replace the driveshaft, and stuffing box in 2025 and while out had bottom painted. It is fitted with newer Main and genera, and has back up main and jib as well.
Currently sailed only locally, it was sailed across the Gulf, in early 2025 with comfort and pleasure. As with most boats with it comes time to sell, lack of expected use is the motivating factor, the the owner wants it to go to another loving family and get sailed as it should be. If looking for a fabulous starter boat you will not fine a better value for your sailing dollar.
