WELCOME TO JUCA!
If the boat is still advertised, it is still available. When enquiring, however, it helps if you can include a little more information than the standard YachtWorld "Is this boat still available?" message so we can better assist you.
Here is the current situation with Juca, so you have a clear understanding before deciding whether you would like to pursue the opportunity further.
Juca has been sitting on a dock unused for approximately 18 months. During that time she has not been sailed and would need to be fully recommissioned before she could go anywhere under her own steam.
There is no survey, the boat has been in the water since her last bottom job about 24 months ago, and there are no recent photographs or updated condition reports available. The only visual material we currently have is a set of roughly 200 photos taken about four months ago. If you call, we can send you the link to that photo library.
What we do know is that substantial money has been invested in the vessel over the years, including:
Standing rigging replaced
New sails
Lithium-ion battery bank and upgraded electrical systems
Two wind generators installed
Three air-conditioning units installed but not yet commissioned
Updated electronics
The German owners, who have lived in Puerto Rico for more than twenty years, are now in their 70s and returning to Germany to retire. Unfortunately they are simply no longer in a position to sail the boat, which is why she is being sold.
The vessel did sustain some minor damage( dock rash) during Hurricane Maria but there was no water ingress after which significant funds were spent improving and upgrading her. There are no records of the damage because it was minor
Because of her current condition and the fact that she has been idle for some time:
No sea trial can be offered
The boat is being sold strictly "as-is, where-is" on the dock
She will require recommissioning and additional work
The asking price has just been reduced by $100,000, reflecting the reality that a buyer will need to put time, money and effort into bringing her back.
This Morgan 60, once the bowsprit and davits are taken into account, has an overall length of well over 70 feet.
For a seasoned yachtsman or yachtswoman with the time, resources and practical skills to finish putting her together, there is a serious boat here and the potential reward is a magnificent long-range cruising vessel.
IF YOU NEED TO BARGAIN ON THE PRICE OR NEED TO HIRE PEOPLE TO DO THE WORK FOR YOU ( OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE TO HELP WOULD BE GOOD) THEN THIS BOAT IS NOT FOR YOU
Essentially the successful bidder will need to get on a plane and actually go and look at the boat before they do anything else.... so they can make up there mind first hand.
