Motivated Seller
Priced to Sell - This 1997 Mainship is in good condition and well-kept. Very motivated seller, as the new boat is on its way!
This Mainship 350 Trawler is an economical, low-maintenance coastal cruiser with classic trawler lines and a good turn of speed. Considered a "performance trawler," the main ship rides on a semi-displacement hull, capable of higher cruising speeds than full displacement trawlers. This is powered by twin Volvo Penta 200hp engines with under 2333 hr that have been very well maintained. She cruises comfortably and is very fuel-efficient at 8kn, and we max out at 12kn when in a hurry.
- Fuel burn per hour at cruising speed (8kn) is around 2.5g per side. The boat is highly fuel-efficient, running at 1.5 NM/Gal.
Upon purchase (2018) - $15K in engine overhaul included all new elbows, heat exchangers, raw water pumps, exhaust, belts, filters, and fluids (all work done by La Conner Maritime)
This Mainship is equipped with a Northern Lights generator in excellent condition. With only 722 hours, she fires up immediately and has more than enough power for every system on the boat, including the heat and AC. We have new Garmin electronics at both the upper and lower stations, replacing analog gauges with all-electronic gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, RPM, etc. These same units also serve as the GPS system. The boat has an autopilot, which works well. It has Blue Sea Systems battery monitoring, which is a redundant system to the new charger/inverter (2 years old). It has LED lighting throughout and can be indefinitely off shore power, with low power needs met by the generator. Also replaced: the hydraulic steering system, including a new steering ram, and new engine control cables (transmission and power).
Stepping inside from the covered deck, you'll find large wraparound windows that provide ample natural light in the salon and excellent visibility from the lower helm. She also has a custom elevated settee in the main salon, where you can easily see out the windows while dining. A convertible sofa and a high-low table are starboard in the salon, and an L-shaped galley with refrigerator/freezer and Corian counter is forward to Port. A sliding door at the Helm provides easy access to the deck.
There are two state rooms and a single head forward with seperate shower. The master berth has an island queen bed and two hanging lockers. The guest state room (partially tucked beneath the galley) has a double berth. Molded steps ascend from the deck to the Mainship's large fly bridge. Although this boat was branded as a 350 Trawler, it is actually almost 40' long with the platforms included and was later rebranded as a 390 Trawler.
- A new RIB dinghy, with a new dinghy davit system installed on the swim step.
- A full appraisal of this Mainship was made in June 2024 and is available to serious buyers.
- A slip sublease in Bellingham is available for a limited time, which is negotiable with the owners. Normally, there is a multi-year wait for slips.
Mechanically, electrically, and structurally, this boat is in good condition and fully operational. Cosmetically, there is nothing you wouldn't expect from a 1997 trawler. The gelcoat still shines up really nicely. The main salon is fully functional and could be updated very easily if desired. The current owners have cruised this boat all over Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands with no issues.
- Haul out for bottom paint, running gear anti-fouling paint, and zinc replacements (March 2025)
- New digital gauges with Garmin electronic display (x2) for GPS, engine temperature, oil pressure, RPMs (2024)
- Full gelcoat restoration - two rounds of wet sanding (1000 grit and 1500 grit), compound, then wax (2022)
