Manufacturer Provided Description

The Dyer 29 Trunk Cabin is so quiet that a social conversation and or a picnic can be enjoyed underway. The boat is easily driven, level-riding and non-pounding with a 200hp diesel that slices through waves. It averages 3 to 4 gallons per hour over a season's use. The 29 has been proven durable and seaworthy by more than 300 owners and fishing captains. The raised bridgedeck over the engine offers great visibility from the wheel and, without an engine box.  Dyer 29's versatile 4-in-1 design maximizes the joys of motorboating. With soft top up and side panels in place, it's a three-season cabin cruiser. Remove side panels for an airy, Bimini- topped ride on the Intracoastal. The sailboat cabin is perfect for a cruising couple with its twin V-berth cabin, galley and enclosed head.

Sturdy Construction: Built with a durable fiberglass hull and high-quality materials, this boat is known for its resilience and longevity, making it a reliable choice for various water conditions.

Good Resale Value: Dyer boats often hold their value well within the market due to their reputation and desirability, making them a sound investment.

Cons

Age-Related Wear: Being a 1981 model, potential buyers should consider that the boat may require some updates or renovations, such as new electronics or refreshed interior finishes, depending on its maintenance history.

Limited Speed: While the Dyer 29 is a comfortable cruiser, it is not built for speed. Those looking for high-performance or fast cruising may find it underwhelming.

Maintenance Needs: As with any older vessel, regular upkeep is necessary to ensure its condition remains optimal. This includes everything from engine maintenance to hull inspections.

Draft and Manoeuvrability: The Dyer 29 has a deeper draft compared to smaller boats, which may limit access to shallow waters or difficult docking situations.

Fuel Efficiency: Depending on the engine choice, fuel efficiency can vary. Some owners may find it less economical compared to newer models equipped with more fuel-efficient technologies.
