The Dyer 29 is a legend in it's own right; a semi-custom built boat that has been in production for over 60 years. Built on a soft chine hull with full length spray rail and prop-protecting keel the Dyer 29 is a joy to handle in any sea condition. "Puritan" has been beautifully maintained by her experienced owners. They've found her to be a great day boat for coastal exploring, getting to their favorite swimming spots and enjoying spectacular sunsets.
The Dyer 29 Trunk Cabin is so quiet that a social conversation and or a picnic can be enjoyed underway. The boat is easily driven, level-riding and non-pounding with a 200hp diesel that slices through waves. It averages 3 to 4 gallons per hour over a season's use. The 29 has been proven durable and seaworthy by more than 300 owners and fishing captains. The raised bridgedeck over the engine offers great visibility from the wheel and, without an engine box. Dyer 29's versatile 4-in-1 design maximizes the joys of motorboating. With soft top up and side panels in place, it's a three-season cabin cruiser. Remove side panels for an airy, Bimini- topped ride on the Intracoastal. The sailboat cabin is perfect for a cruising couple with its twin V-berth cabin, galley and enclosed head.
Standard Equipment Hull and Deck - Proven semi-displacement keelboat hull - Moderate beam and displacement for superior fuel economy - Rounded chines for a soft ride without pounding - Narrow, low-drag hull for less wave-making at harbor speeds and for a smooth transition to cruising speeds - Progressively lower deadrise angles toward the stern and external spray guards for good form, stability, and roll resistance - Long, integral keel, cutaway aft, for predictable tracking and protection of prop and rudder against accidental grounding - Engine amidships and minimum superstructure with low center of gravity for responsive handling and a level ride in high speed turns.
