Wooden
Beautiful wooden sloop designed by Ben Seaborn (the man who designed the Thunderbird) and built in Denmark by Augie Walsted. This is the last design by Seaborn before he passed away and there were only 4 of them built. The other three were built in the US. The owner has put 110K into it in the last three years. She has a three cylinder Yanmar diesel with about 250 hours. The hull is mahogany planked and the deck is plywood with non skid fiberglass over it. She was fast for her time as she has a hydraulic aft stay tensioner and a wooden tiller. She will still hold her own in a contemporary race. She has a spinnaker and roller furling with self tailing winches. She has all the accoutrements of a contemporary sailboat, including a water maker. Main halyard leads back to cockpit for self handling and an electric windlass. Owner is reluctantly selling because he works out of town and hasn't got the time. Nothing on this vessel is old, she has been refurbished and renewed in every respect. This is a one of a kind gem.
This is a beautiful antique sailing vessel that will get looks and attention where ever you go. After all there aren't any out there like her. You'll be sailing a piece of history but it's like new. She was hauled and painted in July 2023. She only used 8 Gal. to port Townsend from Tacoma.
This is an antique sloop (1958) but is solid in every way. She has an aluminum mast & boom W / lazy jacks. Main halyard stretches back to the cockpit for single handling. The two jib sheets have self tailing winches
Cabin soul is Mahogany and so is trim inside & out
There were only 4 of these made; 3 in the States and this one made in Denmark by Augie Walsted. The Marine Architect, Ben Seaborn, also designed the renowned Thunderbird sailboat.
