She consistently dominates the summer weeknight series and has won the King Of The Hill Race the last 9 years (End Of Season Championship Race); and 10 out of the last 11 years! She has amassed hundreds of trophies over the years and has won every race she has entered at least once. She has beaten every TP52 that she has ever competed against on the race course!
Margaritaville 1.5 began her life as a 50' pro race boat called Corum (Swiss Watchmaker). In 1997, her current owner purchased this very advanced race boat, cutting edge in both design and materials. No expense was sparred, using the best materials available, Carbon Fiber and Titanium.
In 2003, she underwent a massive make over. Under the supervision of Marine Architect Alan Andrews the original hull was removed and replaced with a newly fabricated Carbon Fiber TP52 Hull, resulting in a massive improvement in stiffness and a considerable weight savings from the original boat. An updated carbon fiber mast and a new keel with a ballast of 10,013lbs. created a monster! Long gone were the days of 9kts to 10kts downwind and hello to some serious speed. She achieved her fastest speed during a race in San Diego hitting 27kts.
Margaritaville 1.5 has been professionally maintained and always lovingly taken care of. She is ready for her new owner and crew and some more racing!
