Burger Boat Company, some history...

Burger Boat, of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is the builder of custom designed and painstakingly hand built motor yachts that are considered by many to be the Rolls-Royce of motorized yachts. Prices of new Burger Yachts typically start at $3.5 million and can go to well over $10 million. Burger Boat was founded in 1863 and produced its first welded steel yacht in 1938 and moving to welded aluminum in 1952. Currently, there are approximately 250 Burgers Yachts worldwide out of a total company production of just under 500 built since 1863. Burger yachts sport every option and amenity imaginable. The company, in its current incarnation, is headed by David Ross a Chicago entrepreneur who took over the company in 1993 after it went bankrupt. The 135 year old companies production is painstakingly implemented by about 150 skilled craftsmen who complete, on average, three new boats a year, allowing the company to maintain expected Burger standard of quality.
