This exceptional 49' DeFever Raised Pilot House built in 1988 is ready to cruise with her extensive upgrades and meticulous care.  Designed by reknowned naval architect, Arthur DeFever, this classic pilot house yacht combines a superb cruising layout, rugged construction with a seakindly ride.  The floor plan is the rare and in demand "Plan B" providing easy access to the staterooms thru a short flight of stairs from the galley and entrance to the stand-up engine room through an interior doorway.

Full displacement with full length keel: Full displacement means load capacity and stability - she carries 800 gallons of fuel and 400 gallons of water. A full length keel protects the running gear which is important when you scrape the bottom - which you will undoubtedly do in the ICW and the Bahamas.

Twin Engines: The naturally aspirated Ford-Lehman engines are reliable and durable.

Stabilized: She comfortably cruised in the Atlantic last summer from Cape Breton Island in Northern Canada to Cape May, NJ. with her NIAD 201 roll stabilizers with PH an Bridge Control

Portuguese Bridge and full walk around: The crew is secure behind a solid 40” wall when outside in virtually any weather conditions.

Bow Thruster:  Vetus 24 VDC, 130 KGF with PH and Bridge Controls

Raised Pilot House: The Pilot House is strategically located in the “center of gravity” of the boat. Everything necessary to pilot and navigate the boat in absolute comfort is at your fingertips. Seating for up to 6 and a lunch/work table that converts to a double bed for guests.

Walk-in and Stand-Up Engine Room: The engine room is the working heart of the boat. The engine room is accessed thru a doorway and allows you to stand for much of its length. Each major piece of equipment is within reach from the center walkway, including a full sized tool box.

Electrical Multi Cultural-ism:  When underway she has an ample supply of power generated by a large 270 amp alternator (about 3.2 Kw) mounted on the port engine. This 12 V power is also converted to 115/120V power (and keeps the full sized refrigerator running) by one of two 2812 Magnum Inverter/Chargers.

When at anchor, three large solar panels mounted above the Fly Bridge supplement stored 12V power in the large 980 AH AGM battery bank.  When its time to charge up the batteries before bed the 8KW Northern Lights generator is up to the task, with extra power for the kitchen appliances. If its hot and humid the 15KW Onan generator will easily power the three AC compressors plus just about any load on the boat.

Actively in use: A simple rule is that boats that sit at a dock, month after month, decay. We know as a fact that she has been in constant use, and has been constantly maintained, for the last 10 years. Equipment has been regularly serviced and repaired or replaced as needed.
