Summary
Introducing the all-new Viking 50 Open, a cutting-edge addition to Viking Yachts’ fleet of performance sportfishing machines. With sleek lines, a spacious command deck, and unmatched engineering, this model delivers everything an owner-operator or tournament team could want in a versatile open expre
Manufacturer Provided Description

The Viking Yacht Company proudly introduces the 50 Open Express, a bold new addition to its lineup that delivers style, strength and innovation. The Open Express is designed for owners who want high-performance capability, luxurious comfort and serious sportfishing functionality in one sleek, modern package.

The 50 Open Express is one of four new models in Viking’s 50 Series, which also includes the 50 Convertible, 50 Billfish and 50 Sport Coupe/Sport Tower – each designed to meet the needs of a wide range of boaters, from hardcore anglers to cruising families.

This model features a wraparound windshield, integrated hardtop and raised command deck with excellent sightlines. The operator stays fully connected to the cockpit and fishing action – and everyone enjoys the comfort of a salon-like environment that features ample two dinettes and generous seating. For added flexibility, a custom Costa Clear enclosure can be fitted to fully or partially enclose the command deck, enhancing the boat’s versatility in any weather.

Anglers will appreciate the in-deck fish boxes, a raised transom live well, and cooler and freezer storage beneath the mezzanine – all seamlessly integrated into the cockpit for tournament-level functionality and everyday convenience.

A tower is also available, offering elevated visibility and fish-spotting advantages offshore. Flush-mounted displays, a helm pod with Palm Beach-style controls and a one-piece windshield give the captain clean sightlines and intuitive command of the vessel.

Below deck, Viking’s reputation for premium craftsmanship shines through. The two-stateroom layout includes a forward master suite with queen or crossover berths and a guest stateroom with upper and lower bunks. The ensuite master head includes a separate shower and salon access for convenience. The port-side day head can also be used as a rod/tackle locker. The fully equipped L-shaped galley, port-side dinette and optional Pullman bunk or rod storage area round out a versatile and stylish interior.

Built with Viking’s renowned attention to detail and structural integrity, the 50 Open Express begins with a resin-infused fiberglass hull that ensures strength without excess weight. Also resin infused, the structural bulkheads and custom fiberglass fuel tanks are engineered for durability and strength. Throughout the yacht, Viking uses purpose-specific materials and methods tailored for each area of the boat.

Advanced techniques like Light Resin Transfer Molding (LRTM) are used to create parts such as hatches and doors, ensuring a consistent, high-quality fit and finish. The result is a quieter, stronger and more refined vessel that performs beautifully and stands the test of time.

Twin MAN 1200MHP engines provide the power, pushing the 50 Open Express’ refined running surface that’s designed for maximum speed and efficiency.

Owners also benefit from Viking’s vertically integrated subsidiaries, Atlantic Marine Electronics and Palm Beach Towers, which provide factory-installed electronics packages and towers for a seamless, turnkey experience.

“The 50 Open Express delivers everything today’s owner wants – from the layout to the fishing to the performance and engineering,” says Viking President and CEO Pat Healey. “It reflects our relentless commitment to building a better boat every day.”
