This boat deserves a new captain and new horizons to cross--and the owner wants to make that happen. All offers welcome. Worth more than her asking price even as a floating apartment at anchor, she has everything needed to be a regional cruiser and comfortable home. Some boats are tired and need to just rest in a slip. Not this one. She is ready for you.
ZING!! is HULL #1 of the popular Uniflite 42 DC (double cabin) model. And she's been loved and cared for since coming off the production line in Bellingham in 1971. This sturdy, comfortable, and well laid out boat, with a mostly original interior, carries a great "retro" vibe, but with updates and upkeep that make her feel like she's new.
Stepping aboard Zing!! feels like stepping back in time. Everything is either original or has been installed/repaired with a nod towards the original design. At the same time, she is a modern and well-loved boat with not a hint of stale or musty neglect. Her teak interior and new teak and holly sole give a warm and cozy feel through every inch of her. All components and comfort systems work flawlessly. All work has been done professionally throughout her history and the boat is in rare condition. This is a unique opportunity to own Hull #1 of a design that has been a mainstay in the PNW since '71.
The 42 Double Cabin has long been a sought-after model, with its full width aft deck, wide open layout, and rugged construction. Built from a solid, heavy fiberglass layup (pre-blister issues), ZING!! gives an exceptionally safe and smooth ride. She comfortably cruises at 8-9 knots, but she'll do something few other cruisers in this class can do. With her twin 300 HP engines and semi-planing hull, she will get you back to port fast when the weather turns nasty. With a top speed of 16 knots, Zing!! can get up and go when it counts. Should accidents or hard hits happen, you will be the one driving the tank. It'll buff out.
She is the perfect vessel for Pacific Northwest waters; as a regional cruiser, weekend getaway, or full time live-aboard. She currently has everything she needs to make your adventures safe and comfortable.
The list of recent upgrades includes:
- teak and holly floors
- Force 10 (2) burner galley range/stove
- Original commercial refrigerator with new isotherm cold plates

-2 Garmin GPSmap 4210s

The current owner has kept a meticulous binder of all relevant materials. She has loved this boat and is invested in seeing it go to the right buyer-someone who will continue the line of care and pride that has been kept up for over 50 years.
