Keep it simple -- and Trojan did -- is a good lesson that many boat builders should follow. The cockpit arrangement of the F-30 includes a helm seat and a companion seat, plus a wide open aft deck, with plenty of room for deck chairs. Engine and bilge access is provided by large deck hatches.

The cockpit is sheltered by a hardtop and custom camper enclosure. Access forward is easy, with wide, flat side decks and safety rails along the cabin deckhouse.

The open cockpit arrangement allows for a versatile boat -- well suited for fishing, cruising or dockside lounging.

Down Below

Enter the bright cabin through a centerline hatchway. An enclosed head compartment, with shower, vanity and toilet, is immediately to starboard. A long, wide settee sits forward of the head and will raise to form a Pullman-style bunk berth.

To port, find a booth-style dinette and the convenient galley.

The v-berth, with lots of storage below and a ventilating hatch overhead, is fully forward. This layout will sleep as many as six.
