For anglers seeking protection from rain and spray, the Shamrock 260 Hardtop is a good-looking trailerable fisherman with a large cockpit and a weather-protected helm. The 260's biggest selling point is her unique Keel-Drive hull with its full-length skeg keel and protected prop and rudder-a design that all but eliminates the possibility of damaging a prop or rudder in shallow water. The eight-foot beam makes for a relatively narrow boat given her length and, while Shamrock used this hull successfully in several other 26-foot models for many years, the ride can be wet in a chop. That said, the 260's cockpit is large with 60 sq. ft. of open, unobstructed deck space. The inboard engine is housed beneath the back-to-back seats on the centerline and the entire seat pod is easily raised for excellent service access. The Hardtop's large ventilating side windows let in plenty of light and air, and the cockpit is deep and comes with under-gunwale rod racks. Additional features include a lockable cabin with V-berths, bow pulpit and positive foam flotation.
This particular 1989 Shamrock 26 Hardtop has had a major customized refit making it a one of a kind vessel.
