General

The 1160XL is the latest version of the famed Seawind 1160 of which over 200 have been built and sailing all over the world. The SW1160 has hundreds of ocean crossings and a number of world circumnavigations to its credit. The new model SW1160XL retains all the sailing features and offshore capabilities of the 1160 but has been redesigned with a modern exterior, more internal volume and greater cruising comfort.

The new XL version will retain the simplicity and low maintenance features of the SW1160 and offer a true blue-water, ocean capable catamaran at an exceptional entry level price. Perfect for weekend cruising and perfect to meet your serious offshore cruising dream!

The overall finish of the Seawind 1160 XL will be consistent with a luxury world- standard yacht of this size and type. Only very high quality equipment is used throughout.
The overall aim is for a level of construction, workmanship, equipment, fitout and style that surpasses any other comparable catamaran available in the market at this price range.


Construction

  • Construction is to ISO Standard Category A and all lamination specifications meet Australian survey and International
  • Standards. Each vessel will have European CE Certification.
  • Finish: Full female moulded hulls & decks, exterior gelcoat finish with moulded-in non-slip surface on deck areas.
  • Hull Laminate: Infused Vinylester (Modified epoxy) resin laminate of the entire hull.
  • Deck Laminate: Infused DCPD polyester (Modified vinylester) resin laminate.
  • Hull & Deck Core Material: PVC closed cell foam core


Mast/Boom/Sails

  • Clear anodised aluminium mast and boom. Single Spreader, 7/8 rig
  • Standing Rigging:
    • Forestay 3/8 (10mm) 1 x 19 Dyform wire.
    • Sidestays 3/8 (10mm) 1 x 19 Dyform wire
    • Diamonds 5/16 (8mm) 1 x 19 Stainless Steel wire
    • All fitted with turnbuckles and T-ball end fittings.
  • Halyards:
    • Main halyard:  10 mm Spectra rope : Heavy duty shackle
    • Jib halyard:  8 mm Spectra rope. Heavy duty shackle

  • Single line reefing, run to helm. Three reefing points with 2 reef lines fitted.
  • All halyards, reefing lines to be led back to cockpit through turning blocks, rope clutches

  • Fully battened Dacron mainsail. Fibreglass sail battens
