The first Sabre 34 was built in 1976. 255 were built before Sabre introduced the Sabre 34 Mark II in 1986. SALTY DOG is hull 266 and is one of the Mark II series. She was purchased by her current owners in 1995. They have done most of their sailing in Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound in Massachusetts these past 30 years. It's now time for new owners. SALTY DOG has been hauled for the winter in Cataumet, MA and will be covered shortly. Note that SALTY DOG has the standard 5' 10" draft keel.
Sleeps 6/7. V berth forward, enclosed head with vanity and hand-held shower next aft to port, hanging locker opposite to starboard. Main cabin features settees port and starboard. Port settee converts to form double berth. Bulkhfead-mounted table with leaf. U-shaped galley aft to port, forward-facing nav station and quarter berth opposite to starboard. Oiled teak interior. Teak and holly cabin sole.
Force 10 stainless steel, two-burner, CNG stove with oven (with two CNG tanks), remote CNG shutoff solenoid, ice box, double stainless steel sinks, hot/cold pressurized water system.
12 volt DC and 110 volt AC dockside systems. !2 volt system includes Nova breaker panel with voltmeter, two 12 volt batteries, and battery selector switch. 110 volt dockside system includes Nova breaker panel with voltmeter and shore power cord.
Garmin GPSmap 545 on bracket on pedestal guard in cockpit. Standard Horizon Quest -X GS1500S VHF radio traansceiver. Datamarine knot/log and depthsounder. Ritchie binnacle-mounted SP-5 compass.
Westerbeke 27A 30 horsepower freshwater-cooled diesel with 1,159 hours.
White topsides and deck. Green cove and boot stripes. Fin keel, spade rudder. Bow anchor roller, recessed foredeck anchor locker, Edson pedestal wheel steering with elkhide-covered wheel, four chromed dorade vents, one clamshell solar vent, two Bomar overhead opening hatches, four opening ports, one fixed port in cockpit footwell for quarterberth, double lifelines with boarding gates, port and starboard, stainless steel transom-mounted swim ladder with teak treads.
Aluminum mast and boom, keel-stepped mast with double spreaders, Mainsail and roller-furling storm jib. Schaefer roller-furling system for jib. Two Lewmar #43 self-tailing primary genoa sheet winches, two Lewmar #16 mast-mounted halyard winches, two Lewmar #30 self-tailing winches mounted on coachroof. Mainsheet traveler mounted on coachroof. Navtec hydraulic backstay adjuster.
Green cockpit dodger and bimini. Custom, frame-less, canvas winter cover made by the Canvas Store in Huntington, NY. Cockpit table. Custom canvas winter cover. Misc. engine spares including filters and hoses. Danforth anchor with chain and nylon rode, three docklines, two fenders, boat hook, horseshoe buoy, fire extinguisher, emergency tiller, electric auto/manual bilge pump, Whale manual bilge pump. Inclinometer.
