This is the last Sabre 34 ever built and she is in great condition. Ferenc Mate features Sabre Sailing Yachts as one of the "World's Best Sailboats" in his 2003 Classic book. Windswept is literally hull #430 and only one of four built in 1992.
She is well equipped with New 2019 Standing Rigging, new chainplates, full battened mainsail New 2016 with lazy jacks, stack pack, New 2023 Quantum 135% jib on roller furler, dodger, bimini and full boat deck cover. Excellent ground tackle, 3 Blade Max Prop, Sea Frost refrigeration, Propane gas stove and oven. She has Shoal draft wing keel, and electronics including knot and depth, autopilot and Standard Horizon GPS chartplotter, and new 2023 Furuno radar! Westerbeke diesel, marine head and holding tank and gobs of storage for a 34 footer make this Sabre a real find.
If you are looking for performance cruising in an easily manageable package you will not be disappointed in "Windswept"!
Why blow around out there when you could be sailing a Sabre?
Windswept was featured on the cover of Practical Sailor magazine May 2013 and was noted to be in exceptional condition. She got a rave review from the editor!
Sabre construction is unique in this era of modern production cruisers. Her wing keel is lead--not iron. She is built the old fashioned "sticks" method, with a hull joined to a deck with an inner turning flange and with all interior components built up by hand on encapsulated stringers, and wood cabinetry with all bulkheads glassed in to the hull. No "pans" are used in this vessel. This makes for a light and strong hull/deck unit with no unnecessary weight used. Sabre construction is more akin to methods used by high end custom builders than to production sailboat manufacturers. The Main Salon is amidship and features a single settee to starboard, a pull-out convertible double settee to port and a bulkhead mounted teak table. Outboard of both settees are large storage lockers and bookshelves. Water tanks and additional storage are beneath. The Navigation Station is aft to starboard. The Galley is opposite to port. The entire interior is finished in oiled teak with teak and holly cabin sole and newer aqua green upholstery. Excellent ventilation is provided throughout with stainless steel opening ports(6), chromed dorade vents (4) and overhead hatches (2). All opening ports, hatches and companionway have screens. Headroom is 6'3" and there is an AM/FM/CD stereo with 2 speakers in the salon (and 2 in the cockpit with speaker selector/fader control). In 1992, Sabre enlarged the storage areas behind the settees and were able to conceal the robust stainless steel main upper shroud chainplates. With the opening of a storage locker, they can be easily inspected.
Folding table mounted on the port bulkhead stays out of the way and opens up the salon when stored. When folded down, it can serve as a half wide table or can be folded out to its full salon width. The usual Sabre bulkhead storage rack is concealed when the table is secured up and out of the way on the bulkhead.
The Head is forward on portside with Hot/Cold pressure shower, manual marine toilet (new head pump unit 2023) with pvc holding tank, vanity with stainless sink, mirror and locker storage. Opposite to starboard is a large hanging locker.
Forward is a v berth with insert that will make a surprisingly large bunk forward when the insert and cushion is in place. Shelving abounds in this forward stateroom with drawers and storage hatches beneath.
Aspenglow interior lights over galley and nav station (2 intensity--both white and red for night vision).
