1994 Sabre 362

"Jackalope"

Hull HID#HWS36126C494

US Doc # 1021779

Boat Details:

This 1994 Sabre 362 was created by the Sabre Design Team in collaboration with Jim Taylor Yacht Design and has won the prestigious Cruising World Boat of the Year competition in its year of introduction. The staying power and owner loyalty of this design in makes for a yacht with a strong owners following making this a sound choice now and in the years to come. The legendary Sabre quality is part of what makes this yacht special. Jackalope, with its dark blue Awlgrip hull, has a cherry interior, spacious aft cabin, easily maintained head and shower compartment, owner cabin with sink and a very inviting main salon. She can sleep seven. The deck is designed for comfort and security in an off-white color. This boat has undergone a bow to stern refit and upgrade over the last three years she has been on the fresh waters of Lake Ontario. This 362 will offer a great value for years to come in a cruising boat that is easily sailed by a couple or single handed while offering exceptional performance. Changes in plans bring this excellent example to market, ready for cruising the Great Lakes or beyond.

The rig is a double spreader Hall spar with a Harken Mk IV roller furler. There is a solid vang to control mainsail twist and a rebuilt Navtec hydraulic split backstay to adjust headstay tension. All of the controls are well organized and led aft. The auxiliary power is a completely rebuilt Westerbeke 35B (2022). The ZF10M transmission was also rebuilt (2022) and new PSS shaft seal (2022) was installed. Supplementing the standard shore power is a 100 amp high output alternator and Balmar regulator. Diesel power take offs are driven by an upgraded modern serpentine belt providing the needed capacity and durability. The auxiliary easily drives the boat at 7 knots under power.

The Sabre 362 is solid under sail, capable of coastal cruising, point to point racing, and strong on resale. It is easily managed by two and is designed for high-performance luxury cruising. Her long waterline and winged keel gives not only the speed of a much larger yacht, but the shallow draft for cruising freedom. Her powerful sail plan gives excellent light-air speed.
