Swiftsure
1 Engine (Westerbeke)
33 feet
Diesel
Fiberglass/Reinforced
This classic Rhodes Swiftsure Class #43 C/B auxiliary was designed during 1958 and was the only centerboard racer/cruiser Rhodes designed out of fiberglass. There were approximately 150 of the boats built. Stardust was built at the famous DeVries yard in Holland. There were two Swiftsure designs, the original "Swiftsure" (which Stardust is) and the "Commodore Swiftsure". Same hull design, deck layout and sail plan. The Swiftsure has a permanent drop-leaf table, bronze deck fittings and Honduras mahogany interior trim.
Star Dust is in great condition and has been well maintained for many years. Her Westerbeke auxiliary diesel, installed in 1993, has very low hours and is in excellent condition. If you are a purist at heart, Star Dust is not much different today than when she was built. A few electronic conveniences and a holding tank are about all the changes you will find. Her varnish has been nicely maintained and upgrades have been made when and where needed. Not to mention, she is a exceptionally fine sailing vessel. This is the only Swiftsure I know of for sale in New England.
