Onslow Bay Boat works was founded in 2005 by Brad Knight, a second-generation boat builder carrying on the legacy of his father. Starting with a 17-foot and then a 20-foot model, Brad's passion for offshore fishing drove him to pursue a bigger challenge: designing the ultimate offshore tournament fishing boat under 30 feet.
With years of experience fishing the Southern Kingfish Association tournament trail, he recognized a unique opportunity in the 23-foot-and-under category, which was defined by waterline length rather than overall length. Capitalizing on this, Brad built a 27-foot boat that fit within the category's regulations, and in August 2007, the first Onslow Bay 23 Tournament Edition was launched-marking the beginning of a new era for the brand.
