Vixen is a swift, seaworthy, beautifully balanced and solid (Lloyds specifications) racer/cruiser designed by Einer Ohlson She is a true classic yawl in excellent mechanical and structural condition. Vixen needs some attention to her paint, varnish and some polish to get her back to tip top condition and is a perfect candidate for a full cosmetic restoration.
Vixen's interior is finished in a traditional Herreshoff style with beautifully crafted varnished joinery and white/off white bulkheads, teak floors and full headroom
Galley
The galley has a two-burner alcohol stove and oven with a stainless-steel sink with pressure water. There is plenty of galley storage out board behind the sink and stove. A counter extension is mounted on the half bulkhead between the galley and the settee. There is a very large stainless steel lined ice chest.
Nav Station/quarter berth
Opposite the galley is full nav station with space for charts. The Garmin MFD, the Standard Horizon VHF/AIS-B, the Alpine stereo system and the ships electrical panel are all mounted at the nav station. The quarter berth is behind the nav station and serves as the nav station seating.
Main Salon
The main salon has a galley to port and a nav station/chart table to starboard. Ahead of the galley and chart table are twin settees and pilot berths port and starboard. A fold down dinette table is mounted on the port bulkhead. The bright work is in excellent condition throughout the main salon. There is amazing storage throughout.
Head
A Raritan manual flush marine head is located on the port side between the main salon and forward cabin. A sink with pressure water is mounted in the countertop outboard of the manual head. Doors can isolate the head and v-berth from the main salon to create a private and spacious owners cabin.
Forward Cabin/V-berth
The forward cabin is fitted with a v-berth with a filler cushion and has plenty of storage above and outboard of the berth. The headliner is all varnished mahogany to give the owners cabin an elegant feel.
Electronics
A Raymarine E9 Hybrid touch is mounted over the chart table. An Alpine Stereo is mounted to the left of the ships electrical panel. The control panel for the Heart Freedom charger/inverter is also mounted in the same area. A Standard Horizon Matrix GX 2000 with GPS and AIS Class B is also mounted over the chart table. A Standard Horizon depth gauge is mounted on the cockpit bulkhead.
Engine
Volvo Penta model 2003 diesel: The engine runs well and has approximately 1100 hours on her. The heat exchanger has been recently service. The transmission was rebuilt in 2022.
