The O'Day 28 offers all of the amenities you'd expect in a larger yacht. Simply put she boasts comfortable on board family living. She has performance with no penalties to comfort. Designed by C. Raymond Hunt & Associates as a family cruiser, she'll hold up it end to a commitment of racing. She has a keel-stepped tall rig for horsepower and speed. The interior is unusually spacious for a 28-footer due to the wide 10'3" beam. There is a fiberglass headliner and structural textured floor plan with teak bulkheads and joinery. The double-leaf table folds up against the bulkhead when not in use. The L-shaped galley is central for the cook to work the efficient layout with a sink, stove and pantry for storage and all the counter space you need. Opposite the galley is more storage space. Her interior is typical with the double forepeak berth, head and vanity just aft, private to the forward and main cabins and the port and starboard settee 6'3" berths. A large quarter berth on the starboard side rounds out sleeping for 5. There is storage beneath all berths and a shelf above the two settees. 6' Headroom. The head and shower has 5'10" headroom and is spacious and private and is built with a fiberglass headliner & textured floor plan with laminated cabinetry and teak trim - all for easy maintenance. The vanity has a SS sink, storage locker and cabinet with sliding doors above the vanity. There's a fold-up shelf between the quarter berth and the starboard settee which adds a navigation/chart table and beneath there is a drawer and cabinet. On deck there are two fixed ports in the main salon and four opening ports, 2 in the in the head area & 2 in the main salon. Forward there is a large hatch and of course the companionway hatch. The self-bailing cockpit has a large seat locker. A fold-down swim ladder, incorporated into the stern rails, allows for a walk-through access to swim or get in a dinghy. The lead fin keel provides stability, safety and great windward performance. This is a USCG documented boat.
