"Ms. Moneypenny" presents a rare opportunity to purchase a 37' Nordic Tug that has had only one caring owner that has kept her stored under cover in brackish water her entire life! Her overall condition is truly exceptional in all respects and will most definitely please the most discriminating of buyers! While she has been kept in the same covered slip since new, she is no stagnate dock queen, as she has been regularly cruised and is ready to go again!
With over 200 produced, the Nordic 37 Tug (called the 39 Tug in 2013-15) ranks high on anyone's list of popular midsize trawlers. For many, this is the perfect boat for the retired couple-easy to handle, fuel efficient and roomy enough for extended cruising. She rides on a solid fiberglass semi-displacement hull with moderate beam and a full, prop-protecting keel. The raised pilothouse floorplan of the 37 Tug is arranged with two staterooms forward including an island berth in the master stateroom and over/under berths in the guest cabin. The Nordic's full-beam salon is open to both the pilothouse and cockpit. In the salon area, the well laid out galley features a full-size refrigerator, and an L-shaped settee to port that converts to a double berth at night. Additional features include beautiful teak woodwork and cabinetry throughout, cockpit storage lazarette, transom door, and bow thruster. A single 330hp Cummins diesel will cruise at 12-14 knots.

The 37 is available in two configurations, the standard layout that has become so popular and a convertible layout. Customers now have an option for a boat with accommodations similar to that of the 42 in a smaller, easier to handle and more economical package. Designed by Lynn Senour, the originator of the Nordic Tug design, the 37 shares many of the features found in her larger and smaller siblings such as a hand-laid fiberglass hull with hard chine and full keel as well as the same attributes of speed and seakeeping qualities. The waterline length of the 37 is actually 39 feet due to a molded-in swim step that is essentially an extension of the hull giving her greater speed, stability and fuel economy. The design performs best at 8.2 knots burning just 2.2 GPH at 1400 RPM. Slow things down to 1350RPM for an even 8 knot cruise at 2 GPH. As the sea state deteriorates, advance the throttle to improve stability and dampen the roll. A 2400 RPM setting will allow a 13 knot high continuous cruise speed with a top speed of 16 knots. While many trawler designs must wallow through a sloppy sea state, the Nordic Tug hull form develops a surprising amount of stability at higher speeds. This feature allows her owners to operate with greater comfort and confidence in a wider range of weather conditions.
VESSEL WALKTHROUGH:
Entering the the salon/galley area from the spacious aft cockpit through the swinging cockpit/salon door, you will find the main salon is impressive, as well as spacious. To port, is the very large L-shaped Settee that converts to sleep (2) and hi-lo Dinette Table with comfortable seating for a small crowd. Across to starboard is the equally impressive and spacious Galley area that please the most discerning of cooks. Moving forward/centerline and up from the salon (3) Steps is the equally impressive, as well as spacious Pilot House Area. Moving forward/centerline and down (3) steps from the Pilot House you will find the (2) Spacious Private Staterooms and the Private Head with Separate Shower Stall.
